Sophiya's Designs began in a small studio in Thamarassery, Kerala — a town quietly tucked between the Western Ghats and the everyday rhythm of Malabar life.
We design and curate clothing for women who hold tradition in one hand and ambition in the other. A Chikankari top you'll reach for on a slow Sunday. A salwar set for the cousin's wedding that still feels like you. Unstitched fabric that waits patiently for your tailor's hands. Each piece is chosen — not mass-produced — for the kind of grace that doesn't announce itself.
Over the last few years, we've dressed more than fifty thousand women across India, mostly through Instagram, one DM at a time. This website is our way of opening that same studio to you — with a little more room to breathe.
What guides us
- Thoughtful over trendy. We'd rather you wear a piece for five years than five times.
- Handwork, always. Embroidery and Chikankari that take time to finish because the result deserves it.
- Small batches. When something sells out, it usually doesn't return — so collections remain personal.
- You, at the centre. Whether it's a sizing question at midnight or a styling tip before a festival, we answer ourselves.
